Most unusual and interesting vases
Priyanka Ohri | Nov 5 2009

So, what exactly is a vase according to you? Is it just a container to keep flowers or does it go beyond this? For me, the definition of vase goes beyond just flower keeping. It is an art and an expression of things in heart and mind. And that is why I think some really unusual vases have been formed by people who think like me, I would assume. Well, scroll down and see this very thinking take shape for real by looking at some of the most unusual and interesting vases.

1) Airborne Snotty Vases

By Marcel Wanders, the Snotty vases are a collection of five different vases. Each vase represents diseases like Coryza, Influenza, Ozaena, Pollinosis and Sinusitis.

2) Flower Buddy Vase

This weird flower buddy vase is made up of three different parts. Each part has its own reservoir and is perforated all over, so that you can dress it the way you like.

3) Uterus Vase

By The Plug and Stephanie Rollin, it is a very unusual design for a vase. It is an up close and personal meeting with a female reproductive organ, which is most often left out of the conversation.

4) Bouquet

From Visual Lyod, in this individually slip cast porcelain branches are tied up together to create a sculptural free form vase.

5) Brush Vase

The Brush Vase by Harry Allen was originally designed to hold brushes, but considering that it might look good with flowers as well, it has been added with a glass insert. It wears a price tag of $75.

6) Compose-It

These hanging framed vases were designed by Cedric Ragot. These have been constructed entirely of Corian.

7) SUV Vases

Need I say more? Not exactly unusual, but are definitely different and playful design for a vase.

8) Banana Bud Vase

From Jonathan Adler, this vase can have many connotations lying on your table. As described on the site, it is “a vase of Fruedian Proportions.” You know why! It costs $48.

9) Bestow Wall Mounted Vase

By designer Harry Allen, this vase is so cool. It looks so real, still a piece from some fairy tale.

10) Sponge Vase

By Marcel Wanders, in this case a natural sponge is taken and dipped under fluid porcelain clay. The clay impregnates the sponge and after drying the clay impregnated sponge is burned in a ceramic coven. In this way the sponge completely disappears and the porcelain copies the characteristics of the sponge.

11) Float Vase

Designed by Joe Doucet, it takes inspiration from a bottle bobbling on the ocean. It seems it has captured the entire moment.

12) Bic Daisy Vase

By Giffin Termeer, this vase looks like some experimental equipment becoming an inseparable part of your contemporary home décor.

13) Flower Loop Vase

Inspired by the Fibonacci curve, this vase is really elegant. In fact, it looks like a tamed serpent. I mean look at its tail, it might be vicious and the flowers in this vase might be its hissing tongue.

14) Outline Vase

Designed by Yoku Tokuda, this vase is a drawn interpretation of a conventional vase. Looks like a picture frame. The flower in the vase is the only thing that completes the picture. It wears a price tag of £34.99.

15) Grass Vase

It is the latest innovative design from Normann Copenhagen and is by Claydies. These are handmade in porcelain and bring nature indoors. It looks more like a bonsai than a vase, but it is.

16) Web Vase

This vase keeps all the flowers in place without the need of sticky tapes and all. All you have to do is place the six clips evenly around the edge of the vase and stretch the latex web onto the clips.

17) Rozen Vases

By Marre Moerel, Rozen vases are a series of vases that remind me of wood stick, but the difference here is that these are in ceramic.
