Its always a luxury to travel in suites of luxury cruises, but the time is not far when you will be able to own a house on a cruise ship. Here, I truly believe the news mongers (as I really like the idea) that a company called Utopia Residences is ambitious enough to build a $1.1-Billion cruise ship. And, the company plans to sell half of the cabins on the cruise as floating home. Tempting, isn’t it? The ship’s name is Utopia and cabins aboard the ship range in price from about $3.7 million to $26 million US. 204 cabins would be rented like hotel rooms and additional 200 cabins will be sold as permanent residences. The price tag for these permanent homes would be as follows:
• $3.7 million US for a 1,400-square-foot home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
• $26 million US for a 6,600-square-foot cabin with four bedrooms and three baths.
And, its just the range of the prices. However, buying a cabin aboard the ship would not mean buying a share in the ownership of the ship. And, the owners would also have to pay regular fees for utilities, security, concierge services and access to private on board clubs. Some of the cabins also feature hardwood floors, marble kitchen counter-tops. And, whether you are an owner or a renter you would have access to the ship’s many facilities like three swimming pools, restaurants and shops etc. Cruising the seas, Utopia would come to the shores so that you could enjoy most famous events like Tour de France bicycle race, the Monaco Grand Prix car race.
