Closets are the most basic thing in an urban apartment setting, and organizing a closet can be a life giver. At the same time, the process can suck the life out of you, as it can be grueling when it comes to racking your brain for ways of doing it. So, here are some ideas in the way you can organize your closet. I hope they come in handy.
1) Use the door space: Utilize the space that is most often left unused, the back of the door. You can use this space for storing your ties, shoes in a sleek hanging shoe rack or your small accessories.
2) Do away with the clothes not being used: The off season should be packed away. If you have some space in the attic, then that is better. But, if not then you can utilize your under the bed space or over the closet space to store off season clothes.
3) Make use of the drawers: The space under the shelves can be used to install sleek drawers that can be used to keep your tidbits.
4) Move the upper shelf a bit higher: Consider moving the upper shelf in the closet a little bit higher, so that you might have more space for a shallow shelf.
5) Mark the items: This may sound a little tacky, but trust me, it helps. Mark all the containers that you use to keep stuff with the name of the things that you have inside. It will be easy to locate things, and your closet will be more organized.
6) Free your closet rod: Keep only those many hangers that are required. Not a single one extra, this will not only save some space, but will also make your closet organized.
7) Get rid of clothes that you don’t wear: All the clothes that you have not worn in a year or even six months, I think it would be the right time to get rid of them.
